Terminal controller
It's the role of the terminal controller to oversee the operation in the busy terminal areas. Providing a great airport experience for our passengers and customers who rely on the terminal function is one of our top priorities, and as such the terminal controller has a highly complex and ever-changing job to perform.
On a day-to-day basis, this can involve:
- Monitoring CCTV to ensure that the terminal is safe and secure
- Dealing with security issues that arise
- Identifying and responding to passenger flow and congestion issues
- Being the focal point for up to the minute information for passengers and third parties to ensure the terminal can flow as it should
- Responding to incidents, deploying resources to deal with them and, if required, coordinating emergency services within the terminal building.
As this is a pivotal role in the teminal, you will need to demonstrate a great level of flexibility in your work, alongside a ‘can-do’ attitude to deal with any issues that may arise. You’ll need to respond well to pressure and communicate quickly and efficiently in order to keep every area of the terminal’s staff, passengers and third parties well informed at all times.
