Terminals

For the millions of passengers travelling to and from BAA’s airports every year, our terminals are the first and last part of their airport experience. Creating a great first impression and a positive lasting reminder of every journey has always been a huge part of BAA’s customer service, which is why at each of our seven airports, the terminals teams play such an important role. They are made up of:
- Terminal facilities and maintenance teams – taking care of equipment, including escalators and travelators, cleaning and waste disposal, fire alarms and all the general utilities found in the terminals
- Retail – leasing terminal space to airlines, shops, restaurants and various other service suppliers
- Terminal operations and service – ensuring that all the services and information that passengers require is on hand, up-to-date and easily accessible, including display of flight information, signage, security for passengers and staff and health and safety
In addition to these divisions, the terminal control centre forms the hub around which all airport information flows. From here CCTV, alarms and emergency responses are handled, as well the flow of vital information through to the airlines themselves.
The teams working within every terminal at BAA’s airports are extremely large. It’s a varied working environment with many challenges – but it can be incredibly rewarding. And with many opportunities to train and develop a career, a job within BAA’s terminals provides a fantastic working environment.
