Retail concessions

We want our passengers to enjoy shopping at our airports. BAA's retail team works alongside our existing retail concessionaires and identifies potential new retail opportunities, so that we can continually improve the overall airport retail experience. This means aligning our retail and catering proposition closely with the needs and profile of our customers in each location, and working with specialist brands that our customers advocate and trust.

We are always interested in hearing about new and innovative concepts that can help create a memorable travel experience for our customers. Some of the things we look for when selecting potential new concessionaires are an existing and established retail business, a recognised brand name and trading experience on the high street or at other airports.

We need the following information if you're looking to set up a retail concession at one of our airports:

  • Details of the retail or service proposal
  • Background to the concept and relevance to the airport environment
  • Detailed information on your specific target audience (age, gender, nationality etc)
  • Initial financial projections
  • Trading history and/or experience in this sector
  • Locations currently being operated (in the UK or overseas)
  • Company background and strategy
  • Registered company name and number
