Maintenance team manager
A huge amount of equipment, facilities, machinery and vehicles are in constant use across our airports to ensure that every area operates as efficiently as possible. Our maintenance team managers are responsible for the upkeep of this equipment, by leading the maintenance teams and controlling the work they do on a daily basis. Working within BAA’s maintenance teams can provide an extremely diverse working day, and maintenance team managers can expect to:
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders to plan maintenance activities and ensure the airports provide excellent customer service
- Proactively lead a team of technicians on a daily basis and assist in their development
- Deliver maintenance plans that maximise the reliability of assets
- Manage health and safety in the work place
- Monitor and control expenditure.
In addition, you will need great communication skills as you regularly deal with major stakeholders and third parties, in effect being the face of the airport’s maintenance service.
We’re regularly looking for those people who can strike a mix between leadership and technical competence. You’ll need an engineering based qualification and a background in a maintenance environment. Experience of Maximo, OFA, line management and Cognos would also be desirable – although not essential. With a huge capital investment programme in place already, opportunities to work with us as we expand our operations have never been greater.
