Flight Information To and from our Airport Airport Information Shopping and Eating Plan and Book your Trip About BAA Edinburgh

Planning your Journey

Assistance arrangements have recently changed; BAA Edinburgh has responsibility at the airport and airlines when you are on board the aircraft. Please find below a useful guide if you require assistance:

  • If you have a disability or you experience mobility difficulties and need assistance at the airport, you must inform your airline of your particular need at least 48 hours before you fly. It is advisable to give as much notice as possible for both the outbound and return journey, this way we can ensure you receive the assistance you require. If, however, no notification is made, we will make all reasonable efforts to assist you.
  • Even if you are fairly mobile, there can be long distances within airports and therefore assistance might still be required.
  • As well as informing the airline, you may wish to inform THS, the special assistance provider at Edinburgh Airport.
  • To receive assistance you must arrive at a designated point no later than two hours before the published flight departure time, or you must present yourself for check-in no later than one hour before the published departure time. The help points are as follows:

Help points - flight arrivals

  • Short stay and 2 hour car park.
  • Coach park.
  • Onward travel taxis.
  • Forward travel taxi rank.
  • Public/transfer bus stops on inner forecourt.

Help points - flight departures

  • Reserved seating area in check-in hall
  • UK Arrivals hall.
  • International Arrivals hall (before security).
  • Forecourt help points (taxi drop off point, bus stop 20 and private vehicle drop-off).
  • Coach park stand 7 and 11.
  • Multi-storey car park foyers.
  • Help point at surface short-stay car park station (nearest terminal).
