Key Information

  • Passengers arriving at Gatwick Airport from international and United Kingdom points of origin and connecting onwards to international destinations can connect airside (ie without clearing customs and baggage control) via Flight Connections. There are frequent buses (every 10-15 minutes) to transfer Flight Connections passengers between terminals. Please note passengers connecting airside will require either a boarding card or ticket for their connecting flight. Hold luggage will need to be checked through.
  • Passengers arriving from international or United Kingdom (UK) points of origin, who are connecting onwards to UK destinations (including the Channel Islands and Ireland) must follow the standard arrivals route through customs (for international passengers) and baggage reclaim, and then proceed to check in for their onward flight. Please note it is a UK Immigration Service requirement that all passengers entering the UK must present themselves to Immigration at the first port of call. Therefore it is important that your passport/visa allows you entry into the UK. You can apply for a 24 hour visa on arrival. This is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer, who must be satisfied that you have a confirmed booking of onward travel within 24 hours.
  • Please note, there isn’t anywhere to sleep in the airport so you must make stopover arrangements should your connecting flights be separated by an overnight stay.

FAQs
Do I need to collect my baggage at Gatwick ?
Your baggage may be through-checked to your final destination, but please confirm this with your airline as not all airlines offer this service. In the event that your baggage is not through-checked you must collect your cases from the baggage reclaim hall in arrivals and then check your bags in as normal for the second leg of your journey.

Where do I get my boarding card?
Usually you will have been issued with all necessary boarding cards at your original point of departure, however, if this is not the case please contact your airline.

What is my minimum connection time?
Minimum connection times vary depending on your route and your carrier. Please confirm this information with you airline.

What should I do if my flight into Gatwick  is delayed?
If you are delayed and are likely to miss your onward flight, go to your airline desk on arrival, where your airline representative will be able to advise you of your options.

Who can I ask for help?
For all general enquiries head to the BAA airport information desk. If the information desk is not open, or if your query is specifically related to your flight, please contact your airline representative.
