Flying start

The government restriction limiting passengers to one item of cabin baggage is lifted with effect from Monday 31st March 2008. The size restriction shown below still applies. However, some airlines may still have their own restrictions.

If you are planning on going away there are ways of making your journey through the airport a lot easier.

So why don’t you get your trip off to a flying start and help us to help you travel through the airport in three simple steps.

1. Check-in

  • Where offered by your airline please use internet, self-service or day before check-in.
  • Check your airline’s baggage weight allowances before travelling.
  • Have all your documentation ready for your check-in agent. (eg: ticket or reference number and valid passport).

2. Security

  • Passengers may take more than one item of hand baggage per person through security with maximum dimensions of 56cm x 45cm x 25cm or 22in x 17.7in x 10in.
  • Passengers are advised to check with their airline for their particular baggage policy.
  • Maximum 100ml containers of liquids, gels, creams, pastes, foam, sprays, perfume and lotions including cosmetics, toiletries and drinks, in a separate and re-sealable bag.
  • No sharp items.

3. Departure lounge

  • Once through security, relax and enjoy the wide range of shops and restaurants in the departure lounge where you can fly with everything you buy, liquids included!*

  • Please remember to get to your departure gate on time.
