Help and tips with the live flight information service on BAA's airport websites.

1. If the service is unavailable

The following telephone numbers provide flight status updates and may be used if the service is unavailable.

This is an automated service – at the prompt, select 1 and have the flight number or the scheduled arrival/departure time ready.

2. If you can't find a flight

• First check your typing. Ensure there are no spaces in the flight number. For short numbers (eg BA9) try using leading zeroes (eg BA009).
• If you're looking at the high-graphics version (pictured), ensure you've selected the correct tab (arrivals or departures) at the top, and clicked 'See all flights' at bottom right.
• Did your flight arrive more than two hours ago? It may have dropped out of the database. The airline may be able to help you.
• Is it more than 12 hours before the flight departs? If so, it won't be in the live flight information feed yet. Please check the flight timetable on the relevant airport website for information.
• Is this flight a code share? This is when partner airlines sell seats on the same flight, each quoting a different flight number. We aren't always told about the alternative numbers, but your airline may be able to help.
• If none of this helps, you may have the wrong flight details. Please consult the relevant airline for further help.

3. If the flight information is wrong

Our flight update service uses the same information source as the screens in the airport terminal.

The data is supplied by airlines, and – like our passengers – we rely on them to provide timely, accurate and complete updates.

We do monitor data quality and work with the airlines to ensure the service remains as accurate as it can be.
