Altering your accommodation

Why
BAA will grant permission for you to make changes to your accommodation, but require details of your proposal before work begins to ensure compliance with all statutory and BAA legislation

How
The approval pack (2,205KB PDF) details all the information you need to provide.

Typically you will need to provide:

  • Six copies of good quality scale plans of both your existing and proposed layouts
  • A clear and concise description of the proposed works
  • Details of proposed contractors.

The Property Approval Team will arrange all necessary internal clearances to include, BAA Building Control, fire safety and engineering. A number of external approvers may also be involved depending on the type and location of the project.  Some examples are CAA, NATS, HM Customs and the local Police Authority.

Who
BAA is responsible for ensuring that all contractors working at the airport comply with safe working practices. You are welcome to use a contractor of your choice but they will need to demonstrate good health and safety standards and meet all health, safety and security requirements.

Your local Property Approval Team is on hand to guide you through the process and if you wish can also provide you with a list of contractors who have airport experience.
